Swipe between the live duet, a big-number bike computer, and the route map. Coach can hold your attention on a legs-power or heart-rate-zone target while recording survives dropped Bluetooth, a locked screen, a phone call, or the app being killed.

Live. Rider power comes from the bike itself — so the duet is measured, not guessed. The cockpit follows your system appearance; a Dark cockpit look is one tap away under Display Settings.

Bike computer. Speed leads; trip, elapsed, power, cadence, heart, altitude, ascent, and now the bike's own motor and battery temperature follow with provenance intact.

Why your ride can't be lost

The phone owns the recording Bike telemetry is an overlay on the phone's timeline, never its lifeline. Losing the bike degrades data richness — never the ride. On a watch-only ride, the Watch carries the same contract.
Written to disk as it happens Every sample and GPS fix is journaled continuously. Kill the app mid-ride and relaunch: the activity recovers with at most seconds of loss.
The whole channel set, journaled Everything the bike safely reports goes into the journal: motor and battery temperature, the bike's own altitude, ascent, descent, and gradient, consumption, calories, its range estimates, the odometer, even a second battery. Absent channels stay absent — never zero.
Gaps stay gaps A dropout is recorded as a dropout. Nothing is interpolated and passed off as measured — your averages say when they had holes.
Starts itself, ends only when you say Rider power ≥ 25 W starts the story — the bike says your legs moved. Ending is your explicit decision, or the optional Auto-End timer after the bike has been gone for hours with no pedaling and no movement.
Works with no bike at all A phone-only ride is first-class. Bike fields simply read "not on this bike"; Watch heart rate says "no watch data" — never fabricated zeros.
Feedback is opt-in Record settings include Heart rate from Apple Watch, Spoken ride updates, interval choice, and battery/off-route events. Updates are quiet by default and briefly duck other audio.
Ride Safety checks on you Opt in and name a safety contact. If you stop moving for a few minutes mid-ride, OpenLevo asks “Are you OK?”; if you don't answer, it prepares — never sends — a message with your last location for you to tap Send. Crash and fall detection stay with your iPhone and Apple Watch, which OpenLevo points you to; it never claims to detect a crash.

Choose Off, Legs power, or HR zone in Record settings. During the ride, compact Coach chips say on target, push, or ease off and can suggest an assist mode for a climb. Suggestions never masquerade as bike changes.

Measured input, derived advice

Legs mode evaluates measured rider power. HR mode uses recent measured Watch heart rate and says when no live sample is available.

Automation is a visible preview

The arming banner, Disarm control, and automatic-disarm states are built. Both independent hardware gates are closed, so the preview is inert and no assist write can occur.

Race the only rider worth beating.

Follow a route you've finished before and the cockpit races you against a ghost of your own best run — rebuilt from that run's recorded GPS, entirely on your phone. There are no accounts and no leaderboards, because there is no one else in the race: it's you, against you, last time.

How the ghost stays honest

Built only from a clean run The ghost comes from your fastest cleanly-ended run of this route. Partial runs and journals without GPS never become a ghost — absent beats fabricated.
Words, not just colors Ahead and behind are an arrow plus a word — "▲ 0:23 ahead" — and both race markers carry VoiceOver labels. Color is never the only channel.
Off route, the ghost waits When you leave the route the delta goes quiet instead of guessing. It returns when you do.
The ETA is your history Arrival time comes from your own cleanly-ended runs of this route — estimate-labeled, and kept distinct from the ghost's live delta.

The map remembers how the trail felt.

After the ride—and while comparing runs—the recorded track can be painted by rider share, speed, or measured heart rate. A legend stays with the map, and unmatched telemetry remains neutral instead of being interpolated across a gap.

On your wrist and your lock screen

The Watch mirrors speed, measured heart rate, real motor temperature, remaining energy, route progress, the ghost pacer's delta against your best run, and the rider/motor duet — and is read-only by rule: nothing on your wrist can change the motor. A Live Activity keeps the same route story glanceable without unlocking the phone.

It also rides alone. Leave the phone at home and the Watch records the ride itself — GPS, barometric elevation, and heart rate into the same ride journal, with crash-safe incremental saves. Back home, it sends the ride straight to your Mac over your own Wi-Fi: code-paired, encrypted, confirmed on the watch, and never touching a cloud.
